Marketing Like the Saints || Saint Simon and Jude
It’s easy in today’s world to see other’s success and immediately think, “well, their success makes sense because they are____(insert something like “more confident than me” “more attractive than me”, “have more disposable income than me”)”
But today, I would like to challenge us to think of how the Lord sees us and how He has shown His work through the church. Take Saint Simon and Saint Jude. Saint Jude was only mentioned a few times in the bible. The church doesn’t have a whole book of information on him, however, he was still chosen. His quiet obedience to Christ can remind us that God’s calling doesn’t depend on any external circumstance. Just a willing heart that is open to His mercy and love.
And now consider Saint Simon, he was a Zealot - a member of a radical sect of the Jewish culture who strongly opposed any conformity to the roman empire. We can probably assume Saint Simon was a little “wild” or “extreme” if he was a Zealot, but that didn’t stop the Lord from calling him. His “fire” was something the Lord wasn’t afraid of and in fact, it was probably a characteristic that the Lord wanted to use.
The bold and stark contract between these two men can remind: the Lord calls all to His heart. The Lord doesn’t prefer one kind of person to another. The ultimate goal is salvation and we can be certain that He is calling you to Himself through the particular life circumstance you might be experiencing.
Now what lesson can Saint Simon and Jude teach us to bring into our catholic business and marketing? I personally believe that their example can remind us that there is not “one right way” to go about running your catholic business. The difference between these two saints is your invitation to lean into the personal gifts and talents you have been given by the Lord, and allow those gifts to lead your catholic marketing activities.
Do you love the camera? Amazing! Work more intentionally in your creative zone of filming and offer it to the Lord. Do you love writing? Fantastic! Use that God-given gift to beef up your email campaigns or blogging.
Whatever gifts and talents you’ve personally been given, thank God for them, ask Him to help your use of them to be intentional and to glorify Him, and boldly use them to spread the Gospel.
] Let us invoke the intercession of Saint Jude and Saint Simon to assist us in boldly following God’s Will in our Catholic businesses and to intentionally use the gifts we’ve been given to further spread the knowledge of who Christ is: endless love and mercy to all.
