Loreto House Creative is excited to feature Leidy, owner of Susurro Bendito, to the community! Without any further delay, let’s get to know Leidy!

“My name is Leidy, Catholic mom, and wife, born in Colombia but U.S Citizen and living in Florida. I started this journey in April 2020 after having my first baby and staying at home to take care of him the whole time, I felt a great desire to start a business, but not just any business, but a business that glorifies the Lord and through which I can share my Catholic Faith and also share the joy that the gospel means to me.”

“As a Catholic person I have to say that God has always intervened in my life in a very special way and I have always wanted to share his eternal love and wonders with others. I have always felt a deep desire to connect and share my Faith with others, enrich the walk of Faith and showcase it with the entire world. This idea was always in my heart and my mind and after making judgment and prayer I was finally able to find out that it was God who put this project in my heart. “

This is beautiful! I wonder how many of us also felt a call to start our own business in 2020? I think what strikes me is how so many of us have that tug on our hearts with the desire to glorify God, but it’s HARD to follow through with it. Leidy is following through and showing how it’s done.

This next section is SO IMPORTANT because Leidy has a clear and precise mission statement. It is imperative that you spend time to build out your own personal mission and to stick with it as you progress and grow.

“My main mission is to enrich the Faith of those of us who are already believers and make the Catholic Faith known to those who do not yet have the privilege of knowing it, through symbols like t-shirts, mugs, hats, printables, stickers, posters, statues, jewelry, that remind us every day of the sacrifice made by Jesus for our salvation. As I mention in all my posts "Feel proud of your Faith", I would like all people to feel that pride and joy of being Catholic, the church founded by Jesus.”

Another point to recognize is that she has not only outlined her “why” but she is specific in “how” she is delivering her “why”. (i.e. through symbols like t-shirts, mugs, etc…) This is important because you not only need the goal and the mission but you need the steps to guide your footsteps to your end goal.

“Also through the blog on my website, I provide valuable information about our Faith, such as historical data, prayers, festivities that our Church celebrates, among others. All this in order to remind those who already know it, and make it known to those who still do not know many things.”

Let’s give some claps to Leidy because she is also providing a resource which is a great decision. You need to give your supporters something in return, no strings attached, as a thank you to their support. Leidy is doing just that by offering resources about the Catholic Faith. It has also differentiated her business and set her apart.

Here are 3 tips Leidy shares with all of us:

3. As St. Teresa of Calcutta (My favorite. Saint) said: Everything I do, I do it with a lot of love, dedication and perseverance. Everything for the glory of God.

Honestly, we should ALL follow this advice to some degree. Not only is it only spot on, it also gives the framework of where you should always start if you start to feel stuck.

Okay, Y’ALL I am literally blown away by this piece of advice….seriously give this part a double read-through:

“Many times when we do what we like and are passionate about, we can tend to dedicate more than the necessary time to it. This is why schedules must be established and time must be respected for work, for the family, for God. Let us remember that there is a time for everything under the sun.”

Holy cow… I am SO guilty of this. Legit have nothing else to add to this except, PREACHHH.

Finally, here is a great piece of encouragement from Leidy,

“Consult any decision first with God. It is important that he always guides us because only he knows what is good for us. As the Apostle Paul said: I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything” but not everything is constructive. 1 Corinthians 10:23”
